Before we protected our residential area with palisades, gates, and monitored access, there were typically 46 incidents of theft and burglary per year. There were two cases of murder, one double rape, and one attempted rape. Burglars were romping through our properties at night, and they even robbed people by day.

Eventually we obtained a court order which allowed us to monitor access to the area.

Voordat ons ons woongebied beveilig het met heinings, hekke, en gemoniteerde toegang, was daar tipies 46 insidente per jaar van diefstal en inbrake hier. Daar was twee moordgevalle, een dubbele verkragting, en 'n poging tot verkragting. Inbrekers het snags deur ons erwe baljaar, en selfs bedags mense beroof.

Sedert ons die gebied omhein het, 'n toegewyde reaksievoertuig aangestel het wat heeldag net in ons woongebied is, en wagte geplaas het by die ingange, het misdaad drasties afgeneem, soos blyk uit die stafiesgrafieke vir die jare 2001 en 2013.

Since we fenced off our area, appointed a reaction vehicle which remains in our neighbourhood exclusively, and put guards at the gates to monitor access, crime has reduced drastically, as you can see from the bar graphs for the years 2001 and 2013.
